Lisa Chiarelli received a call from a concerned citizen about a mama dog and her puppies living in an alley. Lisa immediately researched where the dogs’ location was, and she found out that they were almost two hours away from her house.
Lisa knew that the dogs were in danger because many cars often drive fast even when they are in the alley, so she decided to go to the dogs’ location. Lisa shared that she was relieved that she did not let the distance get in the way of saving the pups’ lives.
Lisa recalled meeting up with the caller, and she was relieved that the woman already took the puppies in her care. However, she could not rescue the mama dog because she ran away as fast as she could.
Lisa spent 30 minutes searching for any puppies left behind when she came across the mama dog hiding under a car. She tried to approach the pooch with a leash and food on hand, but the poor doggo was just so afraid of her.
Lisa recalled spending an hour trying to convince the mama dog to come to her, but she refused and ran away instead. Lisa ended up putting the puppies in her car and driving to the vet because she could not find the pups’ mom anymore.
Lisa drove back to her house to give all the puppies some flea baths and warm food. Lisa shared that she could not stop thinking about the mama dog, so she decided to go back the following morning to rescue her.
Lisa successfully rescued the mama dog after her fourth attempt. Lisa managed to reunite all the dogs and foster them until they were old enough to be adopted, and she could not be any more glad that she did not give up on any of them.
