Back in the day, the only way to catch a stray puppy is by using a catchpole that has a net at the end of it. These days, we can still see catchpoles being used, but it has been modified to be more dog-friendly and to be easier to use. Aside from these things, people have developed several gadgets and gizmos to make dog-catching easier.
In this video, Hope For Paws, a non-profit organization from Los Angeles, California, has used a unique device that helped them catch a stray puppy who was hiding underneath a car. One of the biggest challenges that dog rescuers face is the fact that stray dogs are easily spooked, especially when humans approach them.
Most stray dogs would run away, and some would even try to bite their rescuers. This is what happens to dogs when abandoned; they revert to their feral state. For this particular rescue mission, Eldad and Loreta brought a fence-like contraption to help them.
They received a call from a kind woman about a stray dog hiding under a car, and Eldad, who is the founder of the rescue group, thought that this was the perfect opportunity to use their new tool. The callers waited for them and it was a really surprising matter for them.
On top of that, the kind mother-and-daughter duo helped Eldad and Loreta set up the fence. The pup has no chance to escape because of the wrapped car. Once secured, Loreta went in with a gentle snare. She only managed to secure the pup’s hind legs, but that was enough to keep her from running away.
When Loreta scooped her up, the pooch didn’t even put up a fight. Eldad then confirmed that this cute little thing was only a puppy. They then named her America. The team brought America to their headquarters to get some shots, a shower, and a nice grooming session. Hopefully, they can find a home for this sweet puppy as soon as possible.
